Barcelona Walks & Quests — last updated 23 July 2026
These terms apply when you use the Barcelona Walks & Quests app. They are written plainly on purpose. If something here seems unreasonable, write and say so.
In one paragraph. This app points you at places worth walking to. It is not an audio guide and it does not try to tell you everything about anywhere. You decide where and when to walk, and you remain responsible for your own safety. Nothing here is sponsored: no venue paid to be included, and none can.
What the app is
Barcelona Walks & Quests is a walking guide. It gives you a themed route through a district, points you to each stop, and tells you enough to understand why that stop is worth standing in front of.
It is deliberately not exhaustive. We are not an audio guide and we do not narrate the full history of every building. If a stop catches your interest, that is the point — the rest of what is known about it is a search away, and you will find it better than we could summarise it. What the app is for is knowing where to go and why it is worth the walk.
Information, accuracy and change
The content is written by us and compiled from publicly available sources — published histories, municipal and institutional material, press coverage, and the public statements of the places described. Each stop was checked at the time of writing.
Cities change anyway. Businesses close, move, change hands, change hours and change prices. Streets are dug up, buildings are restored and closed for restoration, and public spaces are fenced off without notice. We give no warranty that any description remains accurate or current at the moment you read it, and you should confirm anything that matters to your plans — especially opening hours, admission and whether a place still exists — before relying on it.
If you find something wrong, write to hello@walksandquests.com. We would rather hear it from you than leave it wrong: the content is maintained, not frozen.
No sponsorship, no paid placement
No venue, business, museum or institution has paid to appear in this app, and none can. There is no advertising, no affiliate commission, no referral fee and no commercial relationship with anywhere described. Inclusion is an editorial choice and nothing else.
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or acting on behalf of any place mentioned. Names of businesses and institutions are used descriptively, to identify the places we are pointing you to.
Descriptions and opinions
Some of what we write is factual and checkable. Some of it is judgement — that a room is worth seeing, that a dish is the reason to go, that somewhere trades more on its history than on what it serves today. Where the text expresses a view, it is our honest opinion, offered in good faith and not as a statement of fact.
If you own or represent a place described in the app and you believe something we have written is inaccurate, out of date or unfair, write to hello@walksandquests.com. Tell us which stop and what is wrong. We will review it promptly and correct or remove what does not hold up. We would prefer to fix it than to defend it.
Your safety is your own
This is the part that matters most, so it is not buried.
- You decide where to walk, when to walk, and whether to go at all. The app does not assess whether a route, a street or a time of day is safe for you.
- Watch the city, not the phone. Do not use the app while crossing roads or in traffic. Obey traffic signals and local rules.
- Routes run through a real city: uneven pavement, cobbles, steps, steep streets, construction, crowds, weather. Judge conditions yourself.
- We make no representation that any route is accessible by wheelchair or suitable for limited mobility, and we do not verify accessibility at any stop.
- The app is not designed for unaccompanied children.
- If a place or a street feels wrong to you, do not go. Your judgement beats ours — we have never met you and we cannot see where you are standing.
Location and check-ins
Check-ins depend on your device's location, which is approximate. Accuracy varies with buildings, weather and hardware, and in the dense old city it can be poor. A check-in may fail when you are standing in the right place, or succeed when you are near but not at it. This is a limitation of satellite positioning, not something we can fix.
The app is a guide, not a navigation system. Do not rely on it for directions in an emergency.
Purchases
Some quests are free. Districts and the whole-city bundle are one-time purchases made through Apple's In-App Purchase — not subscriptions. Payment, billing and refunds are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's terms; we never see your payment details and we cannot issue refunds ourselves.
The whole-city bundle covers the districts available at the time of purchase and any districts added later, at no further cost. We add content over time and intend to keep doing so, but we do not commit to a schedule, and districts described in the app as in preparation may take as long as they take.
Our content, and other people's
The written content, the routes and the design of the app are ours. You are welcome to use them for your own walking; you are not licensed to copy, republish or redistribute them, or to build a competing product from them.
Map data and map styling are provided by Mapbox under Mapbox's terms. Place names, business names and institution names belong to their owners and are used here only to identify them.
Liability
The app is provided as it is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss, injury, disappointment or expense arising from your use of it — including from information that has become inaccurate, from a place being closed or changed, from positioning errors, or from anything that happens to you while walking.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have that cannot lawfully be limited. If you are a consumer in the European Union, your statutory consumer rights apply regardless of anything written here.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Spain. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the law of your own country of residence.
Changes
If these terms change, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the app after a change means the updated terms apply.
